Our foundation bitch, "Tink", is a Katie x Cosmos offspring from the Claymore Kennel. She is a loyal family companion, happy, alert and highly intelligent. She is a typical Flat-Coated Retriever in every sense of the word. She loves the water and has been swimming long distances since 4 months old. She is equally at home working the field and has earned AKC, NAHRA and a Working Certificate field titles. We are currently training for the advanced field test. Tink also completed her Obedience Companion Dog (CD) title at 19 months old with three class placements, finishing with a first place in Novice.
Tink is a wonderful dog, always at our side and ready to play. She easily settles down when asked to do so. She does not have a mean bone in her body. I’ve never seen her act aggressively towards anyone, people or another animal. She will alert, by barking, if a new face or intruder shows up around the house or yard.
Her favorite play activity is catching the Frisbee or retrieving the Kong. She loves dried chicken strips and raw wings, but absolutely hates having her nails trimmed.
Tink was bred twice to Ferro, a Flat-Coat from Sweden. One puppy bitch was born from the first breeding. Her name is Neverland’s April of Claymore, “April”, owned by Al Jenkins. April passed away in 2009 at the young age of 3 years. From the second litter, two dogs and one bitch was born. There names are Max, Wendy and Morgan. Two of the three live with us in Virginia and Max lives in Pennsylvania.
